Artspot 5: Art at the UM

07 January 2014

The current exhibition is the first in a series of exhibitions devoted to the theme of ART at the UM. Together, these exhibitions will provide an overview of Maastricht University’s quite varied art collection. As such this series addresses how the collection developed over time, what kind of artworks were in fact collected and which factors played a role in the collection’s evolution.

This first exhibition is composed of two parts. The first part shows restored artworks from the BKR collection that date from the early years of the UM – works that were first given on loan to the UM but that are now owned by it. The second part focuses on new works of art purchased by the UM in recent years.
